Telenor Pakistan Ambassadors
The last program of the series ‘Shaping the Professionals of Tomorrow’ was on the company’s Internship program, widely known as ‘Telenor Pakistan Ambassador Program’
Director People Excellence Haroon Bhatti and Manager Recruitment Faisal Khan spoke to Fasi Zaka not only about the Internship Program but also touched upon discussion topics from the last 5 program of the series.
The extracts of the program are as follows:
Telenor Pakistan, in continuation to its commitment to serving the society and bringing about positive change in the community through innovation and technology, decided to formally declare its interns as Ambassadors of Telenor Pakistan in 2008. |
In the year 2008, Telenor Pakistan being an equal opportunity employer, inducted 240 interns from 76 different universities across Pakistan. |
This year, we have decided to let the students themselves reach out for us. Instead of going through universities placement office, we are inviting students to visit our website, www.telenor.com.pk, and apply on line. |
We choose not just academic high flyers, but most importantly all-rounders – students with good GPA, degree relevance, brilliant projects and extra curricular activities. |
Telenor Pakistan internships are project based. Interns are given projects by their supervisors and are expected to complete them during their internship according to an agreed schedule. Projects are short-term work assignments that may have an impact on the business. |
How to benefit from an Internship: |
| |
| |
Internship plays a big part in getting a good job later on, so students should plan it right. Apply for a field that is relevant to their studies, and go for the right exposure. |
Get the most out of their experience. Be serious and professional, offer help for extra tasks, and perform in the assigned duty, no matter what it may be.
Do not restrict oneself to just the project that is assigned, learn about other functions as well |
