Blood Donation Camps

The Sales & Service North region organized blood donation camps in collaboration with Jamila Sultana Foundation (Affiliated with Thalassemia International Federation) in Rawalpindi and Frontier Foundation in Peshawar to help support children who are thalassemia patients. Thalassemia is a genetically inherited blood disease that requires continuous supply of blood and iron chelating medicine as treatment which is provided to the patients free of cost at these organizations. Prior to establishing the blood camps, Telenor volunteers were briefed in advance on thalassemia and donating blood for this worthy cause by both organizations. The camps were set up in March 2010 on the same day in Rawalpindi and Peshawar and employees representing S&SSC North showed up in large numbers to donate blood and support the cause.
