The Telenor Volunteer Zakat Program was launched before Ramadan on September 5, 2006, where all Telenor employees were given the choice to contribute Zakat for SOS earthquake orphans. Zakat collection was managed by the Payroll Department; they were made responsible for deducting the amount donated for the Zakat fund from an employee’s monthly salary.

The DUA Zakat Program is entirely voluntary, and provides Telenor employees an opportunity to give Zakat for the rehabilitation of orphans in the care of SOS Children's Villages of Pakistan.
