Effective 1st of Feb 2009 all new prepaid SIM’s will only be activated once the subscriber dials 789 & verifies his personal data. All Telenor franchises, retailers will sell inactive SIMs from 1st February onwards. After buying the SIM, the customer will make a call to 789 and get his CNIC # verified. The SIM will be activated upon correct verification. The verification of subscriber’s antecedents system is being deployed by Telenor in coordination with NADRAEarlier pre- activated SIMS were available in the market and with the introduction of this new regime ‘inactive SIMs’ will be available in the market. The activation of SIMs will take place only after verification of subscriber’s antecedents from NADRA. |
