APT Conference recognizes Telecom Success says Telenor

Islamabad December 3, 2005: The opportunity to host the 10th Session of the General Assembly is recognition of the rapid developments in the ICT sector in Pakistan, says Tore Johnsen, CEO Telenor Pakistan. Commenting on Telenor Pakistan's participation and sponsorship of the cultural show for the 10th session of Asia Pacific Telecommunity, Tore further added, We are pleased to contribute to this event. This is the first time Pakistan is hosting a Telecom event of this level with representatives from several regional countries. It is an opportunity for us to assume a leading role in important telecom forums in the region.

Telenor Pakistan is participating and sponsoring a culture show for the 10th session of the General Assembly and the 29th Session of the Management Committee of the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity from Nov 30 to Dec 8, 2005 in Islamabad. Asia-Pacific Telecommunity is an important regional forum that holds conferences regularly involving various telecom stakeholders; the operating companies, vendors, regulators and policy makers.

Telenor Pakistan is expected to make recommendations during the conference with the aim of maintaining the fast pace of the Telecom sector, endorsing rural telephony development and adoption of disaster management plan for Telecom in the region.
