Telenor takes its score to 174 destinations

ISLAMABAD, December 22, 2005: Telenor Pakistan has officially opened its GSM mobile network for commercial service in 15 more destinations, including, Hafizabad, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Topi, Hattar, Khewra, Pind Dadan Khan, Karak, Fateh Jang, Hazro, Batgram, Muree Road, PSH-Charsadda Road and Shikarpur. This new addition has taken Telenor's total score to 174 destinations nationwide. Telenor claims to be the fastest growing network in the country.

Welcoming Telenor to Bahawalpur at an inauguration ceremony, District Nazim Bahawalpur, Chaudhry Tariq Basheer Cheema, appreciated the cellular operator's contribution to healthy competition in the telecom sector and praised Telenor for its quality of services, network and technology, which it has brought to Bahawalpur. Mr. Abdul-Rehman Kanju - District Nazim Lodhran was also present at the occasion. Both dignitaries were positive that Telenor's services will positively help the small and medium enterprises in the respective cities.

Officially launching Telenor's service in Sargodha, Mian Manazir Ali Ranjha - Provincial Minister for Colonies lauded Telenor Pakistan's rapid pace of network expansion and said, Telenor has been instrumental in encouraging Foreign Direct Investment into the telecom sector, creating much-needed jobs, and in developing fierce competition to the benefit of the consumers. Sargodha is a vibrant city and has a fast developing local economy. Telenor has made a wise choice by coming to Sargodha, and the people of Sargodha are looking forward to take advantage of its high quality services.

Speaking at the occasion, Telenor Pakistan's Director Communication Syed Hasnat Masood told the audience, Telenor will offer all its commercial cellular services through a network of Sales and Service Centers, Franchises and several thousand retail outlets on central locations. In all the said cities, customers will for the first time experience the new feature, Easyload, and also be able to enjoy industry firsts such as '2nd minute low price' and international roaming on prepaid. Four new competitive postpaid packages including zero line rent and F&F/ CUG features with very low prices will also be available. All these services have received great response from customers since their recent launch.

Talking about Telenor Pakistan's coverage, Malik Faisal Qayyum Regional Director stated, Reaching over 174 destinations, Telenor today has the fastest growing network in the industry, including the recently launched Motorway-M2, Narowal, Pasrur, Zafarwal, Gojra, Chichawatni, Toba Tek Singh, Dera Ismail Khan, Chakwal, Shabqadar, Chakwal Link Road, Jhang-FSD Road and PSH-Kohat.
