Telenor key partner in Balochistan development, says Daud

Quetta, April 17, 2006: Minister for Communication and Works Agha Faisal Daud, has called Telenor a key partner in the development of Balochistan and lauded the company's efforts to provide top of the line telecommunication services to local businesses and individuals.

Speaking at a ceremony to mark the official opening of a Telenor Sales & Service Center in Quetta, he said that Telenor was aggressively rolling out in the region and bringing investment and employment in its wake. Assuring his support for the initiative he stressed that Balochistan had much to offer to foreign investors in terms of growing human capital and infrastructure.

Speaking at the occasion, Telenor Pakistan CEO Tore Johnsen, said, From the launch of mega development projects during the past three years, it is evident that Balochistan is on the road to greater development. Telenor Pakistan would like to contribute to the enormous industrial potential that the province, and especially the capital city has, by bringing connectivity and quality. Tore was of the view that Telenor's superior services will help the local economy, small and medium sized businesses, and the community at large.

Telenor Pakistan's Regional Director South for Sales & Distribution Mirza Sajid Baig told the audience that Telenor will offer all its commercial cellular services through a network of Sales and Service Centers, Franchises and over a thousand retail outlets on central locations. Customers will experience the feature, Easyload, and also be able to enjoy industry firsts such as '2nd minute low price', 'Special Umrah Offer' with Prepaid international roaming to Saudi Arabia with activation fee of only Rs 1000 and 'Special Day Time Offer' of Rs 2.45/min from 5am to 5pm to all networks. Four new competitive postpaid packages including zero line rent and F&F/ CUG features with very low prices will also be available. All these services have received great response from customers since their recent launch.
