Telenor Pakistan doubles its growth rate

ISLAMABAD, October 27, 2006: Telenor Pakistan, Telenor greenfield operation in Pakistan, experienced tremendous growth in the third quarter of 2006. The company more than doubled its subscription growth versus second quarter and increased its total revenue by 25% during the same quarter.

Telenor Pakistan presented results that are in excess of expectations. The impressive growth not only shows that we have been doing the right things, but that we have been doing them in a way that our customers admire. Our strong focus on quality in all parts of our business yields good results, said Telenor Pakistan CEO Tore Johnsen.

Our aim is to make it easy for our customers to use advanced services and utilize the real potential of the available technology in their everyday lives.

Parent company, Telenor ASA, beat all forecasts as it announced strong third quarter results, lifting its share price to a new all-time high of NOK 96.60. In the third quarter of 2006, Telenor revenue increased by 35 per cent compared to the same period in 2005, reaching NOK 23.9 billion. During the quarter, the number of mobile subscriptions worldwide increased by nine million, reaching 105 million.
