Telenor Pakistan Employees complete Certificate Program from LUMS

LAHORE, April 3, 2009: Telenor Pakistan employees completed a modular certificate programme from the Rausing Executive Development Centre (REDC), from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in a ceremony held today in Lahore. This certificate awarding ceremony honors those employees who have completed their 18 months customized Certificate Program for Business Management (CPBM).

CEO Telenor Pakistan Jon Eddy Abdullah, Vice President Human Capital Division Telenor Pakistan Nayab Baig and Dean of LUMS Dr. Shaukat Brah were present at the ceremony. The participants also included other top executives from both Telenor Pakistan and LUMS to mark this momentous occasion. This intense training program is in continuation of Telenor Pakistans efforts to promote employee benefit programs in these tough economic times.

CEO Telenor Pakistan Jon Eddy Abdullah during his address at the certificate awarding ceremony said: At Telenor Pakistan, our philosophy is to unlock the hidden human potential by building expertise and by providing an energizing environment. We are interested in finding young talent and equipping it with the competencies that are required in our fast paced industry.?

Jon also appreciated LUMS for joining hands with Telenor Pakistan to provide an opportunity to its employees. This, he added, would contribute to further improving Pakistan's human resource capital. He said that Telenor Pakistan will continue to work with LUMS for more focused programs based on ever evolving needs of business.

Dean of LUMS, Dr. Shaukat Brah while addressing at the certificate awarding ceremony thanked Telenor Pakistan for providing an opportunity to augment professional talent in the country, he said, Our faculty at LUMS designed the CPBM program especially for the selected executives from Telenor Pakistan. The program comprised of innovative frameworks created after adopting a business-wide perspective to enable the professionals to master new skills. The amalgam of being part of the fastest industry in the country and gaining professional education will go a long way to serve the industry as a whole. I, on behalf of LUMS wish all managers good luck for their future endeavors.

CPBM, consisting of 10 modules, was launched in December 2006 in collaboration with the Rausing Executive Development Centre LUMS. The aim of CPBM is to provide Telenor Pakistans managers with a wide business perspective and advanced management tools to become organizational strategists and industry leaders. The program is unique as it emphasizes on exploring the applicability of advanced business techniques in the telecom scenario of Pakistan.
